Pressed flowers from the garden of my apartment in Florence

I’ve been shopping for a twelve-bedroom villa in Tuscany. No, not to buy, *sigh* but to rent for a week next Fall, for a new retreat… Artful Living in Tuscany. Registration for this retreat will open in November. If you want to be one of the first to know when this retreat is open for registration, join my mailing list!

In the meantime, I’ve been daydreaming about Tuscany and going through the journals and sketchbooks from my last trip in 2001. Thought you might like to have a peek!

Photo and thoughts about the ubiquitous street-corner shrines to the Mother in Florence

My sketch of a painted medallion on a Renaissance building in our local piazza

The back garden of our apartment, where I would sit to write and paint

Cut paper collage reproducing the marble floor in the Siena cathedral. I used a tourist map of Siena for the orange marble pieces.

A typical street scene in our neighborhood.
