Yesterday morning, before I turned on any news or media, I was sitting quietly with my tea, a beeswax candle burning, my big blue astrology journal open in front of me.

I was contemplating the intense energies of this week, specifically, the approaching Saturn South Node conjunction in Capricorn.

I was trying to put the big energies into words that would be useful and inspiring to you, *|FNAME|* , and to my other clients.

Here’s what I wrote:

It is a week of abrupt healing or a healing crisis. So much energy is being freed up, but we are left with a need for massive restructuring. Sudden realizations come to us about what old structures need to be released or re-sanctified. Your mission: be willing to release your dearly held structures. Look at them with clear eyes: What part of the structure is weak? What foundations are strong? Where do you need to let go, and where do you need to reconsecrate? Release of big energy can be hard. Be gentle with your emotions and allow time for sadness.

I wrote that. And then I turned on the news.
I know, right? I freak myself out sometimes too.

The symbolism of astrology works. We can’t predict specific events, but we can feel our way into the coming energies, like meteorologists do. We can help you prepare for the soul-weather. And this week’s soul-weather is a little intense.

If you’ve worked with me, you know how I view the relationship of inner and outer events. You know I see our inner experiences and our perceptions as elegantly interwoven with our outer experiences. This is my approach to astrology and to life in general. Outer reality reflects inner reality, not by some punitive system of cause and effect, but through the mysterious elegance of interconnectedness.

So I pay attention when those iconic and emotional moments occur in our culture, and I look for the reflections within. I ask, where is this event echoing and resonating in my own being? Whether the event is beautiful and celebratory, like a royal wedding, or a shocking cultural loss, like yesterday’s fire at Notre Dame, I look within.

Somewhere inside you, a long-standing pattern is suddenly releasing, giving up a tremendous amount of energy and probably causing alarm. But its alright. There’s no loss of life, and the strongest, best parts of the structure remain.

Take some time this week to consider your inner structures of faith and beauty. It’s time to rebuild them and reconsecrate them.

If these words resonate deeply for you, and you’d like a compassionate guide to help you see what’s happening in your inner world right now, come for a consultation. I’ve opened up some extra times over the next couple of weeks. Let’s talk about your story.
